Yooooo, peace fam!
We are officially at Day #20 of the 25 Day Creative Arts Fast, and yall… pausing new creation has opened up the exact space needed to organize the vision, align the infrastructure, and anchor into presence over performance.
While these gears turn behind the scenes, I’m excited to drop the latest episode of the podcast. In this one we’re getting into the trap of immediate production. I start by telling on myself... sharing a chaotic story of trying to mix a track on my laptop while driving down the highway... to show how romanticizing the creative hustle actually splits us down the middle and robs us of the life happening right in front of us.
To break this down, the episode looks at the contrasting disciplines of two legends: Michael Jackson, who mastered the discipline of stillness by letting ideas sit in his reservoir so he could stay present, and Tupac Shakur, who mastered the discipline of execution by handling studio business efficiently because his art depended on his life.
The bridge between the two is The Reservoir... a quick, 30-second “dump and move on” system using voice memos or notebooks to protect your presence while locking the frequency in the pantry for later. Check out the full episode at the link below, and hit the comments to let me know what ideas you’ve been sitting on. Keep moving, keep designing, keep aligning.
Peace.
